Two years after Karla, the Grey Witch, escapes, Parn and Deedlit continue to search for her and their lost friend Woodchuck. Following a lead of a dark-haired sorcerer stirring up war, they end up in the desert kingdom of Flaim, where the two tribes—the Wind tribe and the Fire tribe—battle out a centuries old rivalry in the Wind and Fire Desert.
