As a child Wataru and his grandmother used to pay visits to a shrine in their neighbourhood. While they prayed for each other's happiness, he encountered a snow-white fox named Yuki. Many years later, a sad occasion leads Wataru to pay another visit to the same shrine, but the Yuki who greets him there isn't quite the same one he remembers…
